I began my journey to getting on the road this week by reading studying the “Learn to drive smart” guide from ICBC, which is a precursor to taking the Knowledge Test.
The ICBC website also offers online practice tests which are similar to the one I’ll take in person to obtain my learners permit. I have to achieve a minimum of 80% in order to pass. The tests are broken down in to practical questions and road signs.
I have been grasping the practical knowledge pretty well! I am consistently achieving a passing score on these tests

As you can see in this screen shot, I passed the practice knowledge test with only 3 wrong answers. Ive taken 10+ practice tests and this is how i’m scoring pretty consistently.
The Road Signs test is another beast, and unfortunately my scores are not quiiite high enough to pass yet.
This screen capture shows my attempt (and failure) to pass my Road Signs test…. Obviously i’ll need to focus on this section of the test more in order to have that knowledge secured before my exam. I am booked in with ICBC next Tuesday at 2:35pm, so I have until then to study!

Wish me luck!!!!!

Way to go, Nikki! Great job on nailing the practical knowledge portion of the tests and wishing you the best of luck on your test next week! I appreciate you being vulnerable and sharing your failed attempt of The Road Signs test. Although I already have my licence, I feel like this video would be super helpful for people who are in the same position and trying to pass the test. I found your post to be quite interesting as I am from Toronto and the process to get your license in Ontario is similar but also different. If you are curious, see below for the link to Service Ontario and this is where you would start your journey to get your driver’s license.
